Synopsis

Curated by Justin Loke (vertical submarine) SNAKES and LADDERS: The Art Odyssey at Funan turns the exhibition to a gamified experience at Funan that invites visitors to embark on a captivating journey through the realms of art and imagination during Singapore Art Week 2025. This exhibition curated for Funan celebrates the timeless allure of the ancient board game while weaving together the vibrant tapestry of contemporary Singaporean art, multicultural symbolism, mythological narratives, and ecological awareness.

In this immersive experience, visitors are invited to explore the myriad interpretations of the Snakes and Ladders theme as envisioned by a diverse array of contemporary artists based in Singapore. From paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations and interactive experiences, each artwork offers a unique perspective on the themes of
ascent, descent, and the unpredictable twists of fate. Each brand pairing within the exhibition brings forth diverse aspects such as heritage, culture, history, legends, pop culture, and more, informing the artists' visions.
