Synopsis

The exhibition, featuring the two renowned Singaporean artists, explores the interdisciplinary fusion of calligraphy and ink painting, blending nostalgic and innovative artistic languages to recreate Singapore’s bygone landscapes and Bali’s vibrant scenery.

Ang Ah Tee employed delicate strokes to capture the charm of old Singapore streets and cultural landscapes, preserving heartfelt memories of the past amid rapid modernization. Lim Tze Peng presented over 20 works, including his vivid depictions of Bali’s natural beauty and cultural vitality

Highlights of the exhibition include Lim Tze Peng’s recent creations, crafted at the age of 105, showcasing his enduring passion as he explores new ways to depict the Singapore River, a symbol of his deep emotional connection to the “River of Life”. Additionally, creative calligraphy and ink paintings seamlessly merge Eastern traditions with Western artistic influences, expanding the boundaries of contemporary ink art.
